Rabbi Alan Sherman Speaks About Jewish Beliefs and Hospice Care

A recent Jewish Journal op-ed discusses Jewish attitudes towards end-of-life hospice care, a service now provided at MorseLife

Rabbi Alan Sherman, a rabbi and chaplain at MorseLife Health System for 36 years, was recently featured in the Jewish Journal where he discusses new end-of-life care services that are now available through MorseLife Health System, an organization with a history of serving the Jewish community.  Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care by MorseLife was recently established as a necessary service in the continuum of care at MorseLife and, as Rabbi Sherman confirms, is consistent with the Jewish values surrounding the sanctity of life.

Just as MorseLife’s mission is to honor senior living and optimize life for older adults at every stage, Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care by MorseLife reinforces this mission by offering services to preserve an individual’s dignity, comfort and quality of life during the final stages of a terminal illness.

Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care by MorseLife is a one-of-a-kind program that not only provides unsurpassed care to terminally ill individuals and their grieving families, but also applies an educational approach through lectures and symposia to help the greater community understand the philosophy behind hospice.

Hospice services at MorseLife are open to people of all faiths offering an individualized approach to personal, spiritual, emotional and medical preferences and are provided by compassionate and well-trained care providers. Hospice services are generally provided through Medicare Hospice Benefits and/or private insurers.
