Hospice Comfort and Care

The mission of Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care is to provide outstanding, dignified care for terminally ill patients anywhere in Palm Beach County by minimizing their suffering, enhancing their comfort, and supporting families while upholding Hospice’s life-celebrating values.

A Unique Hospice Program

Known for its exceptional and compassionate patient care, MorseLife is also a teaching facility. Integrating an academic approach into our Hospice and Palliative Care program with community lectures, symposia, and education about Hospice helps families and patients better understand the Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care philosophy and program.

The MorseLife difference is embodied in care and service – the center of care is the patient and the family. We strive to meet families where they are, engaging them in a deep conversation about what they would like end-of-life care to look and feel like, and then we develop and execute a care plan with them that meets their needs. Individuals can receive our services wherever they live: at home or in a hospital, skilled nursing, or assisted living facilities.

MorseLife’s Palm Beach Hospice and Palliative Care Program offers a variety of bereavement and counseling resources and services – from one-on-one sessions to support groups – for individuals and families who are struggling with their feelings of grief and pain.

Bereavement counseling can help ease the emotional and psychological adjustments necessary both before and after death, assist in the positive resolution of grief, or help those at risk for prolonged, unrelenting grief.

If you are having difficulty coping with the grief experience or know someone who is, we are here to offer you the support, strength, and encouragement you may need to move forward.

It may not always be easy to be a Hospice volunteer, but it might be the most rewarding work you will ever do. The time you spend with patients and their families, providing comfort, company, and conversation is invaluable.

Volunteers devote 2-4 hours per week visiting with patients, enabling us to extend our range of services. A vital connection between our patients and our hospice team, you will be doing meaningful, purpose-driven work that makes a difference.

As a volunteer, you provide essential assistance to patients – such as social visits, serving meals, or offering primary caregivers a respite. Volunteers also offer emotional support to patients and their families, like listening and letting them know you understand what they are experiencing.
