In its ongoing commitment to meeting the evolving needs of seniors, MorseLife Health System has launched an innovative, enhanced model of care to enable assisted living residents to remain in their homes in the face of physical and mental decline. Known as “Signature Care for Assisted Living,” the services will be available to existing and new residents of MorseLife’s The Tradition of the Palm Beaches who require nursing services and total assistance with personal care so they can “age in place” at home, rather than coping with a disruptive move to a nursing home.
MorseLife joins an elite group of senior care organizations in Florida that holds a specialty Extended Congregate Care (ECC) licensure to offer this more comprehensive level of care in its assisted living residence. MorseLife obtained the licensure in response to a growing need for services that empower seniors to “age in place” rather than being institutionalized.
“Our ECC licensure enables us to fill a critical service gap in our region for seniors who wish to continue to lead vibrant lives in familiar surroundings for as long as possible despite declines in their health and abilities,” said Keith Myers, president and CEO of MorseLife Health System. “Our residents can still enjoy our five star services and amenities, now with total personal care and nursing services.”
Residents at The Tradition of the Palm Beaches enjoy well-appointed apartments, three gourmet meals and snacks daily, housekeeping and laundry services, utilities, concierge service, security, emergency alert system, and transportation, along with nurturing, life-affirming and fun activities and special events.
“We all hope that our aging loved ones will be able to remain as independent as possible in their familiar home settings even when facing the challenges that aging can bring,” Myers said. “Signature Care for Assisted Living allows our residents who may be declining to live with quality, utmost dignity and independence with increased or adjusted services to compensate for physical and mental declines.”
Standard assisted living provides residents with help with activities of daily living such as in bathing and grooming, but MorseLife’s customized ECC services extend to services as ordered by physicians, including, but not limited to diabetes management, administering of medications, ostomy care, fracture care, catheter management and other clinical services.
“We are pleased to be able to broaden our scope of services through this higher level of customized care and extend, as the name ECC implies, their time in our senior residence,” Myers said.
