Having heard firsthand the harrowing stories of her parents, Esther and Maurice Mandel, Nancy understood from a young age the enduring impact of trauma and survival. “It was clear to me that I had to be the voice for those who survived and those who did not,” she says. For Nancy, being a child of survivors is more than heritage—it is a moral imperative.
