To Our Community,
We want to take this opportunity to provide you with clear and factual information following the recent article published in The Palm Beach Post.
The article was based on an anonymous letter that was riddled with factual inaccuracies, misleading assumptions, and outright falsehoods. Upon receiving the letter, the MorseLife Board of Directors took the claims extremely seriously. Acting through its Executive Committee, the Board promptly engaged independent, outside legal counsel to conduct a comprehensive review of the claims.
The claims in the anonymous letter could not be substantiated and the findings to date have established that they relied on distorted interpretations of policies and actions, selective use of information and a fundamental misunderstanding of how MorseLife operates.
We cannot fully know the motivations behind the dissemination of such unfounded allegations. At best, it reflects a deep misunderstanding of the facts. At worst, it appears to be a deliberate and defamatory attempt to damage MorseLife’s reputation — an institution that, for more than 40 years, has faithfully served the most vulnerable in our community. Had these concerns been brought directly to the Board or management, they would have been addressed with transparency and factual clarity.
As stewards of this trusted organization, the Board remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest ethical standards. Consistent with the independent review, the Board is moving forward with plans that have been progressing over the past several months to enter into a direct employer/employee relationship with President and Chief Executive Officer Keith A. Myers and Chief Financial Officer Randy Wolan. Under this arrangement, the compensation paid to Myers and Wolan will be disclosed in normal course filings and costs for management and support services will no longer be directly linked to the organization’s revenue growth — which increased by an extraordinary 165% over the past five years.
Thanks to your partnership and generosity, MorseLife today remains a nationally recognized center of excellence in senior care — touching over 3,600 lives each day. Our many distinctions include:
- Five-Star Quality Rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and Agency for Health Care Administration
- The highest Medicaid Quality Measure Points of any skilled nursing facility in Florida
- Florida’s only teaching nursing home designation
- The National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association
- Joint Commission Accreditation
- Great Place to Work Certification
And many other honors reflecting our continued commitment to quality and compassionate care.
We are grateful for your trust and support, and we will continue to build upon this strong foundation to ensure that MorseLife remains a leader in serving seniors with dignity, compassion, and excellence.
Sincerely,

David S. Mack
Chairman, Board of Directors
